The PCTI (formerly PCRC) Winter Series IS back... AGAIN ...for 2019!  The Winter Series is a great way to connect with your running brethren and sistren while keeping your training up/going as we proceed through the colder Winter months in Northern NJ. The 2019 Series will be a tad different than year's past. We'll run three (3) races and a Finale, as before, however this year the entire PCTI student body, or at least a strong cross section will be out in full force during the Finale to cheer, support and run alongside our loyal (YOU!) Winter Series alumni (and newbies!). Crowd support goes through the roof when this happens so your going to want to be part of this years event. Just ask those who have run it... its a great event.

This event grows through word of mouth so be sure to share the Facebook Event (bottom of the site) or tell those you train/run/socialize with that this year is set to be something truly special. See everyone on the PCTI asphalt Jan 13th, Jan 27th, Feb 10th and Feb 24th

Two thirds of kids with cancer suffer life-long effects from the treatments used to save their lives. Organ damage, endocrine issues, neurological and cognitive impairment are just a few common “late effects.” Surgery, radiation and chemotheraphy–current standards of care–must be improved upon if this is to change.

AIM HIGH 5K Run / 3K Walk

Saturday April 13, 2019
Registration Information

Location

501 Jarvis Rd.
Erial, NJ 08081

Proceeds for this event support the Aim High Scholarship.

The AIM HIGH scholarship is in honor of Aimee Jo Girard & will be awarded to one Timber Creek graduate with a commitment to nursing and two Timber Creek graduates attending a 2 year or 4 year school. Aimee was an active member of the Timber Creek High School community: she was captain of the Varsity Tennis Team, an officer of Student Council & the Class of 2007. She was crowned homecoming queen the fall of her senior year.

Aimee’s good nature & passion for helping others led her to Thomas Jefferson University where she pursued a degree in nursing. Despite suffering a stroke her senior year, Aimee was determined to not only make a full recovery, but to complete her bachelor’s degree on time. In true Aimee fashion, she accomplished both goals! Aimee then began her career as a registered nurse at Jefferson Hospital. She was adored by coworkers & patients alike for her compassion & positive outlook. Her motto was "Sometimes you just need to shift your perspective."

On August 10, 2014, Aimee Jo Girard’s life was tragically cut short in a senseless act of domestic violence. Aimee’s desire to help was contagious, & her innate ability to find a silver lining was inspiring. Her family and friends hope to shine some light by giving back to the community & we want you to be a part of it! Aimee’s spirit of giving back inspired them to start a scholarship in her honor. Join us to raise funds for this great cause!

Cape May County’s Most Unique Event! Runway 5K/10K & 1 Mile Fun Walk (75 minute time limit) May 18, 2019

Run for History!  Naval Air Station Wildwood (NASW) Aviation Museum, located at the Cape May Airport, is excited to bring this event back to historic Hangar #1! With the cooperation of the Delaware River & Bay Authority (operators of the Cape May Airport), the airport will temporarily close to air traffic to allow runners and walkers this unique opportunity to compete on the runway and finish INSIDE THE MUSEUM! And, it’s for a good cause. Proceeds will benefit restoration efforts of historic Hangar #1 which is listed on both the National and State of NJ register of Historic Places. Enjoy music, a FREE Craft Beer, bagels, water, fruits and refreshments post-race! Electronic timing and officiating by DelMoPRO. Race day registration begins at 7am, race begins promptly at 9am! Early registration is highly recommended. Come join us!

For safety reasons and because of the run's secure location, 10K runners must maintain a 12 minute per mile pace for the race (75 minutes total).
The runway will be cleared of race participants by 10:15 a.m. Participants who are unable to maintain pace WILL BE diverted to a shorter route so they are able to complete the event by this time. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS.
